Q - "Recently my Auntie became unwell and incapable of managing her own medication. We found it incredibly hard getting organised with her meds. How can we make sure this doesn't happen again?"

A - Often people that live alone develop habits that are different from what you might normally expect.  This can often be around when and how much they eat.  These patterns can then get disrupted due to illness.

All of this can make it difficult to organise medication, particularly those which specify that they should be taken before or after meals.

It's important for you both to understand her daily routine, when she gets up and goes to bed, when she takes her meals and which is her main meal. Note this down using pen and paper, add in which medications should be taken and pin it up.  That will help both you and her and anyone else visiting.
